“It’s over with,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said of failed efforts to extend up to $14 billion to the car industry’s big three. The proposed bailout of U.S. automakers ,General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, failed in the Senate on Thursday night, raising fears of an industry collapse, job losses and market tumblings.
