Thanks for all your contributions overnight.  A few of you touched on Michelle Obama’s speech to the Democratic convention where she again tried to prove her husband’s American credentials, to convince voters that he is indeed “American enough” to lead his country. It got us thinking – what defines your nationality?

If they want to leave, why not let them?

Georgia’s breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia are ramping up their demands for independence. Russian Parliament has asked President Medvedev to approve their bids for secession from Georgia saying they “have legal grounds and are morally justifiable”. So what right does Georgia have to stop them leaving?

Did you watch the closing ceremony? It might be east to forget with Phelps and Bolt seared on our minds, but many people didn’t expect these Games to turn out like this.
