On air: Has Morgan Tsvangirai let his people down?

The elections in Zimbabwe will go ahead. That is despite opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai pulling out of the race because of the relentless murder and intimidation of his supporters by Robert Mugabe’s war veterans.

The Movement for Democratic Change says 86 of it’s supporters have been killed by them and two hundred thousand have been displaced. MDC rallies have been banned, leaders arrested and harassed, food aid hasn’t been given to opposition areas and Zanu-PF supporters have been used as election officials. Talking points for 23 June

* Morgan Tsvangarai has pulled out of the presidential run-off due to be held this Friday.
