Blank Page No. 10 sees Zak on the Pacific Coast of N. CA 100 miles N. of San Francisco and Abdi in Mandera Kenya take their turn. As always there are two aims. 1) discuss whatever news stories take your interest. 2) come up with suggested questions for the programme next week including guests you’d like to hear from. Thanks very much to Steve for being our night editor: lots of new ideas in there, including a discussion of secularism and the headscarf in Turkey, and whether PDAs (public displays of affection) by lesbians should be allowed.

Meanwhile our debate on vegetarianism is still raging, and it looks likely that we’ll dive in today and talk about it on air.

Somalia: The ultimate failed state. Should the UN get involved again?

Another effort is being made to bring peace to Somalia. For 18 years the east African country has been in the grip of civil war, making it the ultimate in failed states. Millions of Somalis now live abroad, and those still at home face violence and a worsening humanitarian crisis.

Should Hillary be Obama’s VP?

So Hillary and Barack have been holding talks…..could it be they’re putting together a joint ticket? Would it be a dream ticket?  Or is Barack Obama better off without her? What do you think John McCain would like to happen?
