We thought you might like to see how the show looks as it’s going out. This is the first few minutes of yesterday’s programme.
That’s Madeleine on the mobile phone. She’s talking back to the team in London. And Rohan is to her right. He’s our engineer and makes sure the mic levels are fine and that our feed to London is OK.
I do not think the Isrealis are indifferent to their own leadership.
The economic crunch is telling on everybody and as such, people are looking to see ends meet.
Interesting information regarding the WHYS in Tel Aviv on 9.2.2009 ….
I have a question: Who is who in the video, except Madeleine and Rohan….

Today its election day.
As a palestinean, I can only ask isrealis to vote for whom they like, and try to immagine how life would be if suddenly the world says to the new government: we wont talk to you, we will talk and deal with the ones who lost!
Sounds crazy? its our day to day life in palestine.
I hope whoever gets elected will talk with who got elected in palestine (Hamas), you dont need to like each other, you can even loath each other, but talk with each other and find a compromise solution for your people. Peasee is negotiated with the ones you are in conflict with, not with the ones you like
There are three things that Israel wants:
1. Security (i.e. Greater Israel)
2. Democracy
3. a Jewish state
However, it can only have two of them.
Security and democracy would mean that the Arabs would be allowed to vote and eventually they would out number Jewish voters and Israel would no longer be a Jewish state.
Security and maintaining a Jewish state means that Israel would have to give up it’s claim to being a democracy because it would be denying the Arabs a vote.
Democracy and Jewish state means that Israel will be constantly threatned but it will maintain its Jewish identity.
What do your guests want???
I believe Israeli people want peace but unfortunately their leaders don’t. Making sure to not have any interlocutors to speak to has been a constant and steady tactic of Israel for the last decade.
War is much more convenient and allow Israel to keep Palestinian lands.
It would be nice if there was a mass movement of individuals and soldiers in Israel and the Palestinian territories who defy their government and simultaneously march for peace and meet in the middle somewhere and have a big picnic peace protest.
Who can arrange such a thing?
