Should this man be on trial?

John Demjanjuk is old and ill, and here you can see him arriving in court accused of helping to murder more than 27,000 Jews at a Nazi death camp. Is Germany right to pursue these charges? Is there still a value in going back over what happened in those death camps and trying to ascertain this man’s role? He is of course guilty until proven otherwise and what might the reprecussions if he is acquited?

Are the rich morally obliged to share their wealth?

japanJapan is the latest country to have come out of recession with reports of the economy growing by 0.9 % in the April to June quarter. It follows news from France and Germany last week each witnessing a growth of 0.3 % of their economy in the April to June quarter. London’s Heathrow airport has unveiled its brand spanking new terminal today.

Terminal five doesn’t open to passengers until later this month, but when it does the nine billion dollar building will be the new home of British Airways.
