Has China become the world’s best problem-solver ?

The “west” gets  short shrift from the Rwandan leader in an article with a German newspaper..

“Western firms have to a large extent polluted Africa and they are still doing it”

and he claims that European and American investment is inextricably linked with aid.

His words come a few days after China won praise for it’s talks with North Korea to bring them back to the negotiating table.

On air: Does the G20 have the answers and the actions?

In London they gave the IMF more money, now in Pittsburgh they’re giving more countries an influence over what it does. Add to that the confirmation that the G20 will replace the G8 as the lead body co-ordinating the world economy and that power shift we talked about on Wednesday seems to underway.

The Group of Twenty are meeting  in Pittsburgh to deal with the world financial crisis, and hopefully lead us all out of the recession.

This was posted on our blog last night by Mark, a British soldier, after a video emerged of an apparently unprovoked attack by riot police on a man at last week’s G20 protests. The man now died and there are calls for an inquiry into the police’s actions. (Read Mark’s full post here) It comes after a very busy 24 hours for riot police across the globe.
