I would like to send care packages as Dixie mentioned, please say on air where exactly we can send those. Thank you
The problem with the idea is how will those care packages get there except on military transports, which I highly doubt they will allow on board due to security risks? I just looked at the TV, and all airlines have suspended flights to Haiti, and unless the supplies come from Cuba or the DR, a boat is going to take a long time to get there.
I would like to see the U.S. government coordinate its relief efforts with the U.N., EU and the international community and start sending a considerable relief, aid and comprehensive assistance effort.
Having people throughout America and beyond putting together care packages is a formidable idea, but they need immediate humanitarian assistance and relief supplies, the care packages should be coordinated with the U.S. Department of State and the U.N.
I don’t think most people understand the magnitude of this disaster until we start getting and viewing media coverage on the ground from Port-De-Prince.
i hear no mention of amateur radio operators. Suggest you conmtact arrl.org to find a ham near you to directly connect to Haiti. A pocket transmitter runninmg on a 9v transistor radio battery with Morse Code can reach Miami with a clothesline wire antenna. k7AAY, Portland OR
heba—thanks for the excellent video regarding, the caller (dixie) from haiti…….
Listening here in Portland Oregon, USA on OPB
Please stay with this item…
Folks need to know what the heck is really going on outside of the 98% of working USA families in America.
Come on Auntie Beeb…let the world know through OPB etc that these people in this earthquake had nothing to start with AND now they have even less.

Moving goods is very difficult. Sorting and distributing is very hard. Cash to accredited groups is best. They know what is needed, where it is needed and how to get it there.
Now that the USA leading the relief effort with it’s armed forces, as the BBC reports, I hope that the relief already sent by Cuba, Venezuela and many other of Haiti’s neighbours, and the medical teams many countries already have inside Haiti, are not going to be made ineffective in a PR war between friends and enemies. The people need cooperation and coordination – quickly.
