Tonight (at 4pm EST) Newshour is looking at the new jobless figures published in the US which show that 84,000 jobs were lost last month, bringing the jobless rate to 6.1%, the highest in nearly five years. Since January this year, a total of 605,000 jobs have been lost in the States. We’re keen to talk to someone who can help us give those figures a human dimension. If you’ve lost your job since the beginning of the year, or are seriously worried about your job security, and you want to share your experience with our listeners, please drop us a line – we’d like to hear from you.

No. But I understand there are many in the pipeline.
The legal economy is pretty bad right now. I feel bad for people interviewing for jobs. Some firms are laying off people. I don’t see as many conflicts checks (you do that for new clients/business) as I had seen in the past, and consider myself very lucky to have a job now.
Yes, i lost my job earlier this year and blame 8 years of Republican
mismanagement of the economy. Compare GWB to Bill Clinton, and youll see we’ve gone seriously down hill.
I haven’t lost my job but the market has been so bad that I am making the same wages I was making almost 6 years ago.
