On air: When is a child old enough to work?

The short answer if you look at the law in Tanzania is 18. But the reality is very different. Since we’ve been here we’ve heard many anecdotes about street children being employed by local businesses, of families being so poor they have to take their children out of school so they can earn, and of teenagers wanting to earn some cash to get the music and clothes they aspire to.

We had a pleasant surprise yesterday morning. The manager of a local boarding school here in Mwanza heard our broadcast from Judith’s house on Wednesday, liked it and called Kiss FM to see if they could host the show. Yes was the short answer. I’m Spartacus: Is Cristiano Ronaldo a modern day slave?

He earns about 240 thousand US dollars a week but Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is feeling hard done by. The Manchester United Player says he completely agrees with the Presdient of FIFA, Sepp Blatter who has described footbal’s transfer and contract system as modern slavery. Poor Cristiano? Or get a grip?

After the sensational Federer-Nadal showdown last weekend we’ve spent all week in the Today chewing over what have been the greatest sporting rivalries in history. Coe-Ovett, Borg-McEnroe, Ali-Frazier, Larry Bird-Magic Johnson, Senna-Prost? What do you reckon?
