What is the objective, goal, or purpose of WHYS?
If that were specified, then one could have some suggestions.

This is all that I have been able to discover concerning the raison d’ etre of WHYS:
“As programme makers, we believe passionately that the show is about giving listeners a window onto the world in all its diversity, allowing them to hear views that make them think, and perhaps on occasion question their own attitudes and opinions. We also recognise that one person’s opinion is another’s prejudice, that what we are doing is an inexact science”.
If so, then a view that does not make one think, or to question one’s own attitude or opinion, should not clutter up the postings.
On of the BBC employees explained the WHYS mission as follows:
“..World have Your Say is a programme designed to
get the world sitting down around the same “virtual table” and
discussing the issues that matter to them..”
X-Min
While imperfect, WHYS is doing something significant: allowing, even facilitating, people all over the world to express their views on important issues of the day.
You participate.
I do also, and while I have opinions, I have learned other people’s views.
Sometimes the views are enlightening, sometimes they occupy cultural blind spots, sometimes they seem insane.
You have to admit, no matter the imperfections or bias on this or that topic you feel personally, this is a very important service and program.
The world has put people in space, fought global wars, and now we are talking to one another individually.
I don’t know about you X-Min, but I like it.

A) Just listen, as some people have done..

F) any combination of the above…
The aim is so that any of our listeners can hear how decisions are arrived at- and for them to influence what we do.

“As of the New Year, the WHYS blog stopped being just for the use of the WHYS programme you tune in to, and became home for your interaction with all of the BBC World Service’s news programmes. So you’ll see my colleagues from Newshour, The World Today, World Update and Europe Today posting from time to time”.
I, for one, am fascinated with bubbling development taking place throughout the BBC and will predict that, as more people become aware of the changes, the audience will rapidly increase!!
