Is this a good idea ?

South Africa is thinking of legalising prostitution during next year’s World Cup to limit HIV infection among visiting fans.

It poses just a few questions : does short-term legalisation work ?

If it does, why not do it for South Africans, and not just foreigners ? 

and why not spend the money on AIDS awareness instead ?

Has China become the world’s best problem-solver ?

Rwandan President Paul Kagame.”The Chinese bring what Africa needs: investment and money for governments and companies, -China is investing in infrastructure and building roads”

The “west” gets  short shrift from the Rwandan leader in an article with a German newspaper..

“Western firms have to a large extent polluted Africa and they are still doing it”

and he claims that European and American investment is inextricably linked with aid.

His words come a few days after China won praise for it’s talks with North Korea to bring them back to the negotiating table.

Are “ordinary” women now fashionable?

Karl Lagerfeld, the German fashion designer has added his views on whether ordinary women should appear in magazines. He says that fashion is about dreams and illusions, and nobody wants to look at chubby women. Here’s the previous post we wrote last week:
